PICO TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES NEW COIL-ON-PLUG SECONDARY TEST PROBE
Pico Technology, leader in the field of automotive oscilloscope diagnostics, has this week launched a new, time-saving coil-on-plug secondary test probe for engine diagnostics.
The new coil-on-plug secondary test probe, launched this week by Pico Technology at the ATS show in Birmingham, UK, enables technicians to test secondary ignition in coil-on-plug systems quickly.
The probe can be used in conjunction with Pico Technology Automotive Oscilloscope Kits. It works by capturing detailed secondary ignition waveforms from each cylinder in just a few minutes. The technician can then save, print and analyse the waveforms away from the vehicle. Unlike most other coil-on-plug testers, this design requires no back-probing, no disconnection or disturbance of the wiring, and no special adaptors or foil strips. It works with most coil-on-plug systems and requires no batteries.
David Frew, Marketing Manager at Pico Technology, said “Coil-on-plug systems make it impossible to use conventional secondary ignition pickups, and connecting to primary ignition is often difficult and time-consuming.
