The new PicoScope 6407 USB Digitizer provides high–speed data capture for almost any industrial or scientific application. With four 1 GHz 50–ohm analog inputs and a 5 GS/s sampling rate, the instrument can handle a wide variety of signals such as high–speed serial data; waveforms from automated test rigs, prototype circuits and high–frequency PCBs; radio, laser and radar IF signals; and many types of experimental data.
The 1 gigasample memory buffer on the PicoScope 6407, unsurpassed by any other USB or plug–in digitizer in this price range, allows high–speed capture of very long data records. A USB streaming mode allows continuous capture of unlimited amounts of data at up to 13 MS/s.
Unlike systems such as PCI and PXI that require a specialized backplane or mainframe, the USB–connected PicoScope 6407 is a compact, low–cost instrument that can be plugged into any Windows PC or laptop. The software development kit (SDK) supplied allows the digitizer to be integrated into any programming environment that supports C calling conventions. This includes languages such as Visual Basic, C++ and C#, and instrumentation software such as National Instruments LabVIEW. Example programs are included.
The PicoScope 6407 digitizer packs more features than ever before into a space–saving USB enclosure. As well as the headline specifications, the device offers a built–in function generator and arbitrary waveform generator, and an external trigger input.
The PicoScope 6407 can also be used with Pico Technology’s PicoScope software, which provides all of the functions of an oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer as well as advanced features such as automatic measurements with statistics, color persistence, mask limit testing, advanced triggering and serial decoding. All of these features are included in the price, with no need to buy the expensive plug–ins and options found on many competing instruments.
The digitizer connects to any Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 computer with a USB 2.0 port. You can use one with a PC to save space on your workbench, or connect it to a laptop to create a portable instrument that’s perfect for field testing and servicing, and for on–site demonstrations.
The PicoScope 6407 Digitizer is available now, priced at only £5,995 including a generous 5 year parts and labour warranty. Order from your local distributor or visit www.picotech.com.
