PICO TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES NEW ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC PRODUCTS AT THIS YEAR’S AAPEX SHOW IN LAS VEGAS, USA
St Neots, Cambridgeshire, UK, 24th October 2006. Pico Technology will be launching its latest portfolio of automotive diagnostic tools and software designed to complement the award-winning Automotive Oscilloscope Kit. The new diagnostic tools, together with the upgraded software, have been developed to add additional functionality to support quick and accurate engine diagnostics.
The new Mixmaster secondary ignition signal mixer can produce a parade display of up to twelve cylinders using a single channel of an automotive oscilloscope. Mixmaster is battery-powered and conveniently portable, with a shockproof rubber case suitable for heavy-duty workshop use. It is supplied with a set of four secondary ignition leads, BNC leads to connect to the oscilloscope, an engine-block ground lead, and an illustrated manual in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
The new 6-way Universal Breakout Leads allow you to connect your PicoScope Automotive Oscilloscope to a wide range of components in the engine bay, without having to strip or pierce any insulation and with no risk of damage to connectors. Each lead has six blades wired to six sockets, allowing you to insert it between a plug and socket pair, and a further six ‘banana’ (4 mm) sockets that connect to the TA000 test leads included in the PicoScope Automotive Oscilloscope Kit.
The new PicoScope 6 Automotive software is part of the Pico Automotive Oscilloscope Kit, which turns your PC into a powerful oscilloscope for vehicle diagnostics. With the increasing amount of electronics in modern vehicles, it’s no longer enough to rely on a scan tool. An oscilloscope leads you directly to the source of the problem, and works on any vehicle from any manufacturer.
PicoScope 6 includes over 70 built-in tests for most of the sensors and actuators in a typical vehicle, including injectors, fuel pumps, glow plugs, primary and secondary ignition, batteries, alternators, CAN bus and LIN bus. Each test is accompanied by a detailed reference topic with example waveforms, technical information, photos and diagrams.
