Cambridge, UK — 6 September 2001 — Pico Technology, specialists in PC-based instrumentation, has announced the immediate availability of its latest—and most comprehensive to date—catalogue, which features the company's entire portfolio of test and measurement and data logging solutions. Detailing Pico's virtual instruments (PC-based oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and meters), Data Acquisition products and Automotive and Industrial test and measurement solutions, the catalogue lists some 103 products and accessories.

Products new to the catalogue include a 600 A current clamp and secondary ignition pickup for automotive diagnostics and a wide range of load cells for industrial applications. Also new to the catalogue is the PT-104 temperature-measuring device, which exhibits 0.001 degree C resolution and 0.01 degree accuracy, and the new humidity sensor for Pico's educational data logger DrDAQ.

Mike Green, Pico Technology's Managing Director, says: “We're now able to offer what we think is one of the widest ranges of PC-based instruments and application specific accessories in the industry. The products are low-cost, but high-specification, and the software is free.”

The catalogue can be requested online at www.picotech.com , by emailing Pico, by phone on +44 (0)1480 395396 or by fax +44 (0)1480 396296.

The catalogue also details the features and capabilities of Pico's software instruments: PicoScope, which turns a PC into an oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and meter at the same time; PicoLog, a powerful but flexible program for collecting, analysing and displaying data; and EnviroMon for Windows, software for Pico's EnviroMon data loggers – which now support IP networking and (GSM's SMS) wireless connectivity.

Green continues: “Our data acquisition products are supplied with the application software, free of charge, and also a wide range of software drivers and examples which enables users to develop their own applications and acquisition scenarios.” Pico also supplies, again free of charge, drivers and examples that are compatible with National Instruments' LabVIEW and Agilent's VEE.

Hardware products detailed within the catalogue include: data acquisition devices ranging from the 1-channel ADC-10 to the 22-channel ADC-22; and oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and meter (combined) devices ranging from the 1-channel, 8-bit resolution ADC-40 to the 2-channel 16-bit resolution ADC-216 – with maximum sample rates of 100Msample/s.

Green concludes: “Our extensive portfolio means we're able to tackle the majority of test and measurement and data logging applications - plus, and unlike with traditional bench-top solutions — users are entitled to free software upgrades, which means their instruments can always have the latest functions and features.”
